Nadeshiko:
Graceful - she takes care with her every motion to be as graceful as she can, she moves smoothly and stands with posture that manages to be perfect or near perfect while still being pretty and feminine.
Tries to be more feminine - seriously, all the big girly stereotypes balanced into one pretty little package. And intentionally so. She refuses to be interested in sports as anything other than a spectator, speaks and acts demurely, and favors dresses and short skirts and kimonos to any other kinds of clothing.
Competitive/protective streak - however there is a competitive streak and a protective streak there that when triggered can lead to a. terrifying transformation
Subtle Troll - the words Friends and Toys can be used interchangeably in Nadeshiko's mind. But it is subtle. Her toys are hers, and she loves them and no one is allowed to break them but her. Honestly you have to rewatch large chunks of the anime several times before you actually realize what a troll she is. Putting aside her amusement when people buy the girl act sometimes, since that has its own baggage, there are other things to watch, mostly around Amu-chan. For one thing Amu's crush on Tadase is too much fun for her to resist picking at, managing to get places in time to save the day but hanging back to let Tadase be the hero, setting up Amu to meet with him when she didn't expect it, startling her often by sneaking up from behind, and oh yeah - setting Amu up to call Tadase Prince. Amu is her favorite toy. She loves to play with her.
Good friend - despite the above, she is by most metrics, a good friend. Yes, she messes with her friends and has a bit too much amusement at their antics - antics she drove them to often - she also is protective and loving. More than just going out of her way to make treats every day for their after school tea despite her class work, homework, duties as a guardian, and strenuous dance schedule. Nadeshiko is a world class dancer who knows how good she is, and never joins Yaya at dance class or shares a stage with her fellow dancing friend. Rather, she goes to watch her performances and is encouraging. When Amu is upset, Nadeshiko risks EVERYTHING time and again to try and cheer her up. And will defend her physically when needed. Nagihiko:
Shy and unsure - It takes Nagihiko a while to figure out who he is and who he wants to be, after 12 years as a girl. All he knows is he doesn't WANT to be Nadeshiko when he's Nagihiko.
Imposter Syndrome - Nagihiko's secret is known by the mysterious chairman, and by friends Kukai and Tadase. Because of this, and because he does have a chara egg, he is pulled into being a Guardian even before his chara hatches. And he spends a lot of time feeling inferior and like he can't contribute so shouldn't be there. This is helped a little when his former friends allow him to call the shots in battles he can't be part of, and follow his lead. This is NOT helped by Rima's jealousy which leads to her ignoring his advice and getting him hurt when he throws himself between her and the attack she refused to dodge.
Self sacrificing - See above. Seriously, he will throw himself in the line of fire for people he doesn't even like. He goes with his friends to combat even when he knows he can't defend himself, on the off chance he can be of help.
Obvious troll is obvious - There are times when someone can push him past his insecurities enough that he can't help but mess with them. This mostly happens with Kukai and Tadase because he is less insecure with them, knowing that they've seen him, as Nadeshiko, earn his/her keep. So when they keep pressing to ask what it felt like to wear a skirt... he decides to forcibly demonstrate. We also see him pulling Rima into a hole at one point when she offers a hand to pull him out after spending the whole episode pushing his buttons.
Both:
A love for dance that is pretty much unmatched. Both of them are willing to put up with otherwise unreasonable things, just to learn new ways to dance, and to be able to dance.
Competitive spirit. Like. Whoa.
Loves their friends. No matter how much grief they give their friends, they'd also give anything for them.
