A super spoilerific Shugo Chara App
Feb. 1st, 2018 05:29 amPlayer: Chicklet
Contact: Plurk: ChickletLARP or message my journals.
Age: Adult
Current Characters: None yet, but also apping Xion
Character: Nadeshiko/Nagihiko Fujisaki and NPCs Temari and Rhythm respectively.
Age: 13
Canon:Shugo Chara (which also includes Doki and Party if you look it up on crunchyroll, for some reason they have the second and third seasons their own names)
Canon Point: "They" are built on a mix of the anime and manga, as other than pacing, the main storyline follows the same path. The manga is shorter (and I have finished all of it), the anime fills out a lot more character development and has a ton of extra B plots, and for Fujisaki-san, the biggest change is the age at which Nagihiko comes home. In the manga Nadeshiko is gone for the summer, then Nagihiko comes home, in the anime, she is cone a year. So while I mostly follow the manga for plot lines, I follow the anime for age, which is why the age is 13, though the canon pull point is soon after Temari has hatched again and Rhythm has hatched. While Nagihiko is still trying to figure out who he is. (He's 12 at that point in the manga, but for game play, 13 generally works better.)
Other:
I moved the OTHER section up, because there are things that need to be explained before the background in order to make sense of the rest of the app, unless you happen to already be familiar with Shugo Chara...
Nadeshiko and Nagihiko are the same person. But Nagihiko has compartmentalized so well that Nadeshiko is like her own person. And honestly, he spent most of his life as her, rather than being free to find out who Nagihiko actually is. So while I will write about them as separate people in some instances because that is how "they" think, and because it makes more sense to do that, this is still the same person just pulling off a quick change as needed. For ease of reading if I say Nagihiko I mean male form, Nadeshiko, female form and Nadenagi or Fujisaki-san means the character as a whole.
Also: Shugo Charas themselves. To quote: "All kids hold an egg in their hearts, the egg of our souls, our would be selves, as yet, unseen." The basic premise of the show - which Nadenagi is very intrinsically tied into - is that some children have a "who they want to be" that is so strong it can manifest physically as an egg. Most children will never see their hearts egg, and it can mature with them from within. But for some children, like out main characters, something about their desire to be that who they want to be is so strong that an egg is born. Eventually, that egg hatches into what is known as a Shugo Chara - a part of the child's soul that embodies the who they want to be. For example: Nadeshiko wants desperately to be a graceful, demure, beautiful young lady... who can still protect her friends and win competitions. So she hatched Temari. A beautiful, demure, little girl child of a doll like chara, who hates getting her kimono dirty, and seems above most things... but both of them have a spark to them when aggravated. Ikuto, for another example, is penned in by rules he can't escape for long, so his Chara is a stray cat.
The Charas are invisible to most people. In general, the only people who can see/hear Charas is someone with a Chara of their own, some rare few adults who once had eggs that were destroyed before they could hatch traumatically, children under the age of 4 or 5 (who are, as it is explained, too young to have their dreams formed enough yet to hatch a chara), and animals. There are some other adults who can see them, it is never explained why. For the sake of game play, I generally say that anyone with a strong affinity to souls and/or magic can also see and hear them. So, for example, pretty much anyone from Bleach could, but not so much someone from Special A or W Juliet.
Now while they cannot be seen or heard by most people, they can still have an impact. If a Chara is pushing a vase off a ledge, someone who can't see the Charas will see the vase moving as if on its own.
Charas are a handspan in height and can summon their eggs around them to rest - or in some cases, to sulk. They generally rest best in their eggs.
Charas can give their Chara Bearers some powers that will be described in the abilities section below, but the thing that needs to be noted here is that as they are the who they want to be for the child they are attached to, they can also influence their actions and moods for a short time. Ran often takes over Amu for things like making her confess, or show off, or give someone a bright smile!
As part of the child's soul, Charas CAN actually separate from the child, but only for a VERY short time. The longer they are apart, the harder it is for the child to remember them, and to remember the dream that gave them life. If the child ever gives up on the dream, or stops believing in it, the chara dies, and part of the child dies. And that can happen even if the egg hadn't hatched naturally but was stolen (plot point that involves Nadenagi less, so I will leave it at that for now.)
Guardians - the school chairman formed a group of students called the Guardians. They are ranked based on the face cards (and ace) in a deck of playing cards, and officially are the students who stand up for the rest of the student body against the teachers, and are basically the student government. This involves a lot of paperwork, generally, and gets them a special place on campus, called the Royal Garden. Officially, the Guardians choose new members when they feel they need them. The guardians are given "Royal Capes" which are a capelet addition to their uniforms to make sure everyone can identify them.
In reality, the Guardians are chosen because they are Chara Bearers. The capes have a practical purpose - pockets for the Chara's eggs, to be kept near the heart. They have a special mission - to protect the hearts' eggs of the children, not just in their school, but everywhere. Generally not a terribly hard job, just being encouraging and supportive. But with the nefarious Easter Corperation out there, putting Xs on kids hearts, stealing their hearts' eggs and crushing them... it became a combat situation.
Background:
All descendants of the Fujisaki clan that are in line to inherit the dance studio must spend the first 11 years of their lives as the opposite gender, to learn how the other gender moves. Because anyone who will inherit the studio needs to master all forms of dance, for either gender. So, Nagihiko Fujisaki, born male, spent the vast majority of his time as Nadeshiko Fujisaki, a graceful young girl.
Nadeshiko went to Seiyo Academy and wound up a Guardian when Temari was born, Queen's Chair. Sadly, we know very little of her time before the exchange student, Amu Hinamori came to school one day... with three unhatched eggs.
Before this point, it seems as though Nadeshiko's favorite toy / best friend was Tadase, the King's Chair. But when Amu rudely brushed Tadase off when he tried to ask about the eggs (and later confessed her love to him in front of the whole school while under Ran's influence) Tadase asked Nadeshiko to try to convince Amu to join the guardians. Nadeshiko agreed, and was secretly thrilled. (See Nadeshiko is a troll, in the personality section below.)
Nadeshiko quickly found the stubborn Amu-chan to be fun to tease, and enjoyed using bribery and trickery to bring her closer to the other Guardians. While she mostly focused on Amu's Tadase fixation, she also gave Amu what the other girl needed. A friend.
Amu and Nadeshiko grew closer and closer as friends. Amu became Nadeshiko's best friend, and Nadeshiko started taking risks for her. Like inviting her for a sleep over, just because she looked depressed and sad. For most people the risky part of that would, of course, be the fact that she had an important dance coming up that she could not afford to lose practice time on. But when you are a boy, pretending to be a girl, in a country where 11 year olds share baths and bedrolls, it was a lot more dangerous. But she pulled it off without ever once falling out of Nadeshiko's character. Even when she had to sneak out of bed to practice her dancing in the middle of the night.
Amu saw Nadeshiko Chara-change (more on that under powers) early in their friendship... and after an initial (and adorable, to Nadeshiko) freak out, accepted her. That went a long way to them becoming as close as they did.
Nadeshiko, as Queen's chair, did a lot of paperwork. As herself, because she loves to bake, she usually provided tea and snacks for their picnics and meetings. But when she was Queen, the other Guardians did very little of the fighting. They mostly supported Amu-chan, who as the Joker and holder of the Humpty Lock could fully transform with her Charas, giving her significantly more power.
In theory, in the presence of the Humpty Lock, any Chara Bearer can fully Charanari (Transform), but while some of the enemy - Like Utau - seemed to pick it up easily, the Guardians took longer, for some reason. And by the time Nadeshiko turned 11, she still had not learned how to Chara Nari.
At the age of 11, Nadeshiko had to go abroad to learn more kinds of dancing from around the world. She had (it is implied) taken several trips like that before, but she'd never left a friend, and a mission, the way she had to leave then. It nearly broke her heart. She said tearful goodbyes, and when she got on the plane... Temari had returned to her egg, and had gone back to sleep.
Nadeshiko's time was coming to an end.
Just before Nadeshiko left the country, Nagihiko snuck out of the house. Nadeshiko was leaving behind a lot of friends, but the one he wanted to find was Amu. What did Amu-chan think of his sister? Would she miss her? Also... he kind of wanted to know if he would like Amu as much as Nadeshiko did. He did. They had a brief but wonderful afternoon together, and then he left.
Using the anime timeline for this part, Nadenagi was gone from Japan from the start of that summer to the end of the next. Nagihiko started in Seiyo to find it changed from what Nadeshiko remembered. Some he expected. Kukai, the former Jack, had graduated. From letters Nadeshiko received, he knew a little about the new Guardians, but preferred to meet them fresh.
His first day at Seiyo was.... eventful. The Chairman urged him to share the truth with exactly two people. Tadase who was still the King's Chair, and the former Jack, Kukai, who often came around to lend a hand. (Kukai might enjoy Charanari a little more than is entirely healthy and keeps trying to turn them into a magical girl/boy sentai team.)
Nagi isn't supposed to tell anyone, but trusts the Chairman's judgment and goes along with it, which turns out to be a very good idea. The two of them wind up having to help cover things with Nagihiko throughout their adventures, especially when a batsu-chara affected what they were saying, or how they dressed. Nagihiko became closer friends with Tadase through this, ultimately, than Nadeshiko was, as they covered for each other.
Also, As Nagihiko outed to Tadase, he was able to tell the King point blank that his way of sparkling his eyes at a girl to get them to do waht he wants was not going to work on Nagihiko, just because it worked on Nadeshiko.
Their friendship grew more honest, and deeper.
With Kukai... however. Kukai managed to spark both Nagihiko's competitiveness and temper. both by asking what it was like to wear a skirt and by giving Nagihiko a long list of things that as the new Jack he must do. Like hand feeding the King chocolates, and rubbing the King's shoulders... This does not go well for Kukai. Or, honestly, for Tadase.
Because they know their secret, though, it is easier for Nagihiko to talk to them than to most people. The only other person he really talks to at first, is Amu-chan. And that's because she's Amu. And a little bit because he can't resist messing with Rima, the new Queen, who apparently HATES Nadeshiko for being Amu-chan's best friend, thus hates Nagihiko by association, and hates Nagihiko because amu warmed to him immediately.
But Nagihiko has a problem, and it is behind why he is so shy and quiet with anyone who isn't a Guardian. And why he doesn't feel he deserves to fill the Jack's Chair. Temari went to sleep in her egg when Nadeshiko left, and has not woken up. A new egg was born... but wasn't hatching. Because he knew he wanted to be Nagihiko now... he really wanted to finally get to be himself... but he had no clue who Nagihiko was or who he wanted to be. He desperately wanted to be Nagihiko, but...who was that?
But while the Fujisaki twins had been away, more had changed than just new Guardians. Utau had left Easter after a disaster with the Jack between Kukai and Nagihiko, a boy named Kairi. But Easter had only gotten more aggressive. Every Guardian (and former Guardian) could fully Charanari, and had to almost daily, to save the hearts' eggs. All of them... except Nadenagi. Who didn't even have a Chara between them.
But Nagihiko refused to sit on the sidelines. He felt he didn't have a place there, but he wasn't going to let the others face danger alone. He started to realize that from the sidelines, one gets a much better view of a fight than as a participant, and he started becoming a tactician. While most of the Guardians learned quickly to listen to him and trust him, Rima hated him so much that she did dangerous things in spite of his warnings.
And then he wasn't on the sidelines any more.
Nagihiko learned in those early battles, something about himself. He will throw himself in the way of danger to save someone, even someone who stupidly put herself in that danger to spite him. He saves Rima's life, multiple times.
Oddly, however, for all her hatred of him started because of her hatred for Nadeshiko, Rima finally starts warming to Nagihiko when she finds out that they're the same person. She even sometimes demands that Nagihiko turn into Nadeshiko so they can talk. It becomes an odd and warped sort of frenemies relationship.
More and more Nagi learns who he is. Someone who doesn't let himself be taken for a ride, someone who is good at seeing the big picture, but also will charge in to save a single person rather than stay on the side directing the battle. Self Sacrificing. Nobel. Kind. And competitive enough to made Nadeshiko look as demure as she always wanted to be seen. He rediscovers his love for sports, especially basketball. And through this, the blue egg hatches, and Rhythm is finally born. Very soon after. Temari wakes up again, and the Charas help maintain the deception.
This is his pull point.
Personality:
Nagihiko first, since I just did his background.
Nagihiko is still, as of this point, learning who he is. He's still a bit shy around strangers and unsure. While he wants desperately to be Nagihiko, he's coming to understand that sometimes... sometimes Nadeshiko is needed instead. Naturally competitive, an odd sort of rivalry is forming within him, about Nadeshiko, but it is still minor, and it is like a rivalry with another Guardian... he will still back off when it is actually her time to shine. He might not like it, but he'll do it.
He is competitive, though. Very. Though that often happens as a chara change (The headphones means that Rhythm has chara changed with him)
Chara changing over competitiveness is something that Nadeshiko and Nagihiko share.
Nagihiko is patient and kind with those he cares about, and when he does open up to someone, he shows that he has a backbone and won't be pushed around. He is utterly immune to Tadase's puppy dog eyes/sparkle, but completely susceptible to it from Amu. Even more than Nadeshiko was. He can't stand to see Amu sad.
Where Nadeshiko is a massive troll (see below) Nagihiko can be a troll as well. But he trolls less, while being obvious about it. Nadeshiko is subtle. Nagihiko...
After a day of trying to make Rima laugh because Amu insisted that she wanted Rima and Nagihiko to get along, and that the way to do that was to make Rima laugh, Nagi wound up in a pit trap. Rima finally did laugh and even offered him a hand to help him out. And Nagihiko thanked her, smiled warmly, took the hand, and.... yanked her in with him. It didn't do much to make her like him, but it was just too good an opportunity to pass up.
Speaking of opportunities he can't pass up... Nagihiko loves to dance. He was born for it, trained for it, raised for it... so if there is a stage, and someone looking for a dance partner, it doesn't take much goading to see him sparkle under the lights. Also, sometimes, you can see his dancing training in how he moves in combat.
And now to Nadeshiko:
She also loves to dance, but generally does not respond to being egged on about it. For her, dancing is about art, dispaline, and grace. One does not just... jump up on a stage and show off. One practices diligently, and performs when one has been properly invited to do so.
Dancing for Nadeshiko is in some ways more private. She will teach dancing, of course. She will dance with friends. She will perform in front of strangers on a stage. But she doesn't go out on a dance floor, or jump up when invited to join someone one, generally. I have seen this change in games, but in the canon, we more hear about her dancing than we see it.
The biggest thing to know about Nadeshiko, really is that she is a huge freaking troll. But an oddly good hearted one. For Nadeshiko, the terms best friend and favorite toy are completely juxtaposable. Except when speaking. Part of the game is that no one knows she's even playing it, but her.
The thing is... Nadeshiko will never actually hurt her friends, and she sure won't let anyone else hurt them, but she often takes amusement at their discomfort and private glee out of creating that discomfort. And embarrassing her friends, so long as it looks accidental, is an activity she very much enjoys.
Case in point: Amu has a massive crush on Tadase. Nadeshiko not only bribed Amu to join the Guardians (Tadase said to get her to join, he did not say how) with photos of Tadase, knowing he'd be mortified if he found out, but she also set Amu up... She helped Amu make him a home baked birthday gift, arranged to meet Amu so they could go to his house together, then called Tadase and said she was running late to meet Amu, could he go keep her company? Then she made sure she (and the other Guardians) were close enough to watch the show.
She warns Amu not to call Tadase prince in a way that all but guarantees Amu will, knowing that the resulting freak out will be hilarious.
When Amu asks Nadeshiko why in the world the Guardians are helping Tadase get the Embryo (the show's Mcguffin, can grant the holder any one wish), knowing his wish is to take over the world, she basically says that it's because they're bored, and it is fun.
But for all her trolling, no one is hurt by it, because she makes sure they don't know. She doesn't spread rumors or post things online. She isn't the start a flame war sort of troll, she is the 'say something seemingly innocuous to watch everyone else melt down' sort of troll. But the amusement is hers for herself. So no one's feelings get hurt.
But there are times when she is conveniently late, or arrianges someone else to be somewhere for an interaction that will be hilariously embarrassing, but ultimately good for them. Like Kukai, she tries to protect Tadase from embarrassing himself publicly with his "DON'T CALL ME A PRINCE!" rants, but she is more than happy to trick people into triggering them in private.
The closest she comes to being a troll openly is sneaking up on Amu. But she can't resist, because the reactions are just too hilarious. But set against someone like Kukai who openly laughs so hard he has to hold his sides, at the oddest things, Nadeshiko's subtle smiles when no one is looking go largely unnoticed.
But end of the day, Nadeshiko is a sucker for her friends. She gives into Yaya's whining often, she does pretty much anything Tadase asks when he sparkles at her, and she can't resist Amu's sad eyes. Even for Kukai....
Sports are one of the places where she has trouble keeping Nagihiko in his little box, because sports call to him. The one thing he did as himself growing up while she was supposed to be in charge, was sneaking out sometimes for basketball. So Nadeshiko would happily avoid all sports. But... Kukai is captain of the futbol team and loves having his friends watch. So Nadeshiko bakes herself exhausted so that there is less temptation, and spends the whole practice or match focused on the picnic she provided, and being a good hostess.
Baking is a thing Nadeshiko loves to do, both on her own, and with others. She teaches Amu how to make a tart crust, which then becomes a lesson in cookies, early in their friendship. She's the one who makes all the snacks for the Royal Garden (a thing Yaya complains about when she's gone, because she doesn't want store bought garbage, she wants Nadeshiko's cooking).
Nadeshiko likes for her friends to be happy, ultimately. If they are happy, in the end, then there is no guilt to having enjoyed their discomfort getting there. She sees her friends as toys, but she does love them with all her heart.
Temper and competition - Unlike Amu, Nadeshiko does not Chara Change ofen. Temari is demure, a little bit prissy, and superficial. Generally, a Chara Change makes the child more like their Chara, as well as sometimes giving them a boost of power. When Amu changes with Miki, for example, she gets more artistic; with Su more domestic, with Ran more athletic and cheerful. When Tadase changes with Kiseki, he goes from a serious kind young boy to THE KING AND YOU PEASANTS SHALL ALL BOW BEFORE ME!!!!! But when Kukai and Daichi Chara Change together, Kukai just becomes a little faster and a little stronger, because their personalities are almost identical... Nadeshiko.... Her Chara Change is a little different.
For Nadeshiko, just having Temari there helps her to remember to stay demure and feminine, to strive to be the who she wants to be. Her Chara Change has two predictable triggers - competition... and someone upsetting/hurting her friends.
The first time we see her Chara Change is when Ikuto has attacked Amu, trying to steal Amu's third egg, and Nadeshiko very calmly asks Temari to change with her, and once she does, Nadeshiko goes beserk. She gets a glaive, don't ask me from where, probably the same place Daichi randomly gets sports equipment from, and her accent changes. Everything changes. She goes full on psycho.
She has the same sort of change for a competition, but instead of being willing to do anything to protect a friend, she'll do anything to win... including having Temari throw a banana peel (where did she even get that?!) under Kukia's foot to trip him on the last lap of their floor scrubbing race. But as Tadase is always embarrassed after a Chara Change, so tries to avoid them, Nadeshiko follows his lead and tries to avoid triggering hers as well.
Abilities:
Chara Bearer - has two Shugo Charas, as described in the Other section.
Chara Change - The ability to take on a personality trait from the Chara, that often comes with some amped version of their natural ability.
Nadeshiko: With Temari, her Chara Change taps into her hidden athleticism and not so hidden grace making her faster, more agile, and stronger. Anyone who can see the Charas can see she has Chara Changed by the change to her hair ribbons.
Nagihiko: With Rhythm, his Chara Change taps into his athleticism and hidden competitiveness, making him faster, stronger, and more agile. Hmmm, where have we seen THAT before? Characters who can see the Charas will be able to see DJ ports around his neck when he's Chara Changed.
Charanari - IN THOERY, were the Humpty Lock to come into play (or some equivalent to be found) they can Charanari, which is a full on magical girl/boy transformation in which their Chara goes into its egg, the egg goes into their heart, and they transform. As of the canon pull point, Nadenagi knows they should be able to learn this, but they have not yet learned it.
If the power unlocks in game, Nadeshiko becomes Yamato Mai Hime
And Nagihiko becomes Beat Jumper
As for natural abilities, both are incredibly graceful and athletic. They've also spent their whole lives getting very good at two things above all else - dancing and effective cross dressing. Honestly more people found out about it when he was his own actual gender. NO ONE guessed Nadeshiko was a boy.
Alignment: I find it hard to chose for the twins, but I think Sosyne comes closest, since Nadeshiko works so hard to be calm, and loses it to anger so spectacularly, and because Nagihiko being so shy comes across as calmer to people who don't know him as well, but people who do know him can provoke his anger easily.
General Sample: I will do a sample for each, since each personality is so different. As well as linking a sample thread that had both Nagihiko and Nadeshiko in an event where no one could lie....
Nagihiko:
Nagihiko looked around the small apartment he had secured for them. Two bedrooms, which was good, because he did NOT want girls underthings all over his room, thank you very much. But... That left the question of what DID he want or need in a bedroom here? He didn't have any of his school things, or the things he had from his friends. They were working to get the dance studio open, so his dance things when he got them could live there. The room was too small for most sports stuff to make sense...
Okay, start with the basics. He had a bed. A closet. So... clothes and linens. And.... And... what else?
Frustrated, he flopped back onto the bed and looked at the Chara that flew into his field of vision. "You okay?" Rhythm asked.
Nagihiko nodded a bit. "Just realizing how empty my life is without the Guardians."
Rhythm snorted rudely. "How empty your room is, maybe. But your life?" The small chara landed on his chest, making him go cross-eyed to see. "They're here. In our heart. We'll see them again. And do you really want to tell Amu if she shows up in a month that you spent the whole month sulking in an empty room?"
Nagihiko sputtered a bit. But the point was made. Amu would feel badly for him, then he'd have to cheer her up, and would probably wind up with a room full of things SHE wanted him to have. Or worse, Rima could show up and decide to decorate for him...He sat up and then got to his feet, checking his clothes quickly. "Okay, that's something I need, a mirror," he muttered. Doing it by feel then. Once everything was smoothed down, he headed for the front door. "Going out!" he called to the apartment, in theory to his sister.
He felt a little better, outside. Walking helped, fresh air helped. Spotting a kid shooting hoops..."Hey, kid, up for a little one on one?" he asked, headphones appearing around his neck while he was still trying to to decide if he wanted to talk to the kid or not. He was going to strangle Rhythm when they got home...
Except the kid was smiling and waving him over. Okay. Maybe he'd forgive the little brat for Chara Changing him without permission again. This time.
Nadeshiko:
She'd sort her bedroom eventually. All she really needed for now were clothes and a mirror. The kitchen was the bigger issue. She had wanted this apartment for the kitchen. It was WONDERFUL! A huge oven, a nice stove, plenty of counters. The fridge was on the small side, but she could work with that. She grinned up at her Chara. "Want to help me bake cookies, Temari?"
"So long as it won't mess up my kimono," the small Chara replied, nodding.
Nadeshiko laughed. Temari would be helping with the clean up, then. Specifically the eating of the evidence. She found an apron and put it on. Since she was alone, she allowed a single small pirouette because her mood was that good. The best way to make new friends was always a picnic basket full of treats and hot tea. She'd find an insulated teapot while the cookies baked, she was sure. She reached over and turned on the radio to have some music while she worked. "What kind of cookies should I make first?" she asked, but since it was rhetorical, Temari didn't bother answering; the small Chara was having fun dancing about in the air with her small branch in hand.
Nadeshiko spent the whole afternoon baking. There were sugar cookie people and small fruit tarts, and round cookies with jam and triangle cookies with jelly. Because she didn't know the nationalities of the people she would meet, she also made sure to have some butter cookies, some molasses gingersnaps, and some chocolate chip cookies. The kitchen smelled wonderful. The whole apartment smelled wonderful, and she loved it.
While the last batch was cooling, she put on the largest kettle she could find for tea. Temari helped her look in the high cabinets until she found a thermos. Nadeshiko scrubbed it out and filled it with the tea once it was ready. Then she packed up the cookies, and all the things they would need, and headed out...

Nadeshiko:
It was a lovely day, to be outside. She had a blanket spread on the grass. A picnic basket was beside her, filled with home baked goodies. She had plates and cups out, invitingly, and was sipping her own tea. She didn't quite yet understand the connection between her good mood and the warm sun on her back. She figured because the sun was so warm and wonderful, and the sky so clear, she was in a good mood, it made her happy, which made everything clearer and nicer. Just the nicest bit of breeze, enough to cool, not enough to blow away the plates or chill the tea.
A beautiful wonderful day. Now she and Temari were just waiting for someone to share it with.
Nagihiko:
Rhythm had wanted to go exploring with Temari, and he saw no reason not to let the Charas have some time. He knew they had to miss their friends as much as he missed his. Around this time of day, mid-afternoon, Rhythm would have been hanging out with Kiseki, Ran, Miki, Su, Pepe, and Kisukisu, trying to coax Dia out of her shell, or doing "minion training" with Kiseki, or chasing Yoru around. Just like he'd be sitting doing paperwork while Yaya whined about missing Nadeshiko, and Rima glared at her, not knowing or caring that Yaya was oblivious to her jealousy. Tadase would be working with Nagihiko, trying to ignore them, while Amu would be getting all depressed about missing Nadeshiko, while trying to cheer up Yaya, which he was sure would somehow lead to him taking Yaya and Amu out for ice cream.
Nagihiko leaned against a tree, homesick. He even missed the Nozu-chara attacks that were coming more often than Batsu-chara these days. Whoever was giving these kids this odd distorted wish power had to be stopped, the kids were getting hurt, and hurting others. But he didn't know how to help.
He felt the wind blow chilly air across him and hugged his arms for warmth. He... should head back. Not home. That apartment wasn't home. His home was Amu and Tadase and Yaya. It was Kukai having ramen eating contests with Utau and having to pretend he didn't want to scream at her for all the pain she caused when working for Easter.
The wind picked up worse.
Home was trying to pretend like it wasn't obvious that Amu was hiding that jerk Ikuto in her room. Nagihiko didn't know why she would let a creep hideout there, or why she thought he wasn't observant enough to know, but he trusted her. And told Miki that if anything happened, she was to get him immediately.
He started to head for the apartment, chilled by the wind, depressed by the gloomy day. He spotted some kids playing a pick up game of softball and almost asked to join, then stopped. They didn't know him. His Guardian cape meant nothing here. Why would they let a stranger come play with them? Besides, the weather was getting worse.
Sighing to himself, he headed into the apartment, to collapse on his bed for a while...
Questions:
Still reading stuff, since unlike Xion, they won't have someone taking them in at once. Thank you!
